Padangusthasana or Big Toe Pose is a great way to stretch the back of the body. This is the first foundational posture after the Sun Salutations in the Ashtanga yoga method.



Etymology


Sanskrit Name: Padangusthasana

English Translation: Big Toe Pose



Drishti


Nose



How to:


1. Inhale. Grab the big toes with straight arms. Look up.

2. Exhale. Fold allowing the elbows to go out to the sides. Hold for 5 breaths.

3. Inhale. Look up with straight arms.
