It’s been such an amazing experience growing into a teacher and figuring out how to really teach the Primary Series as a public class. Somehow we’re doing it! This was from when I went live last Monday.
Currently, I have both regular students, some of whom have been learning the sequence from me for a number of months as well as a few people completely new to yoga coming in on a weekly basis. It’s so amazing.
For my #Ashtangis, I teach up to Navasana, skipping Janu C and Mari D. 1/2 the vinyasas, so we just switch sides on 2 sided postures. Depending on the experience level of that days group, sometimes we’ll add on a hip opener like Baddha Konasana or Upavishta Konasana. And then we do backbends and closing. A few people are already learning the rest of the sequence when I have an opportunity to teach them.
It’s super inspiring watching people complete 1/2 Primary for the first time, do first headstands, or their first backbend since they were a kid, and push themselves beyond their previously held beliefs of what was possible. Just last night we encouraged a new friend to try an assisted headstand for the first time, facing her fear head on!! 🙌🏽
This practice is so transformational, I want you to experience it! For the month of November, your first Ashtanga class at Liveology Yoga Studios ATL is free! Sign up at the link.
