Donald Trump, the 45th President of the United States, is a businessman, television personality, and politician who gained international fame for his role in real estate and reality television before entering politics. Born on June 14, 1946, in Queens, New York City, Trump attended Fordham University and later transferred to the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned a degree in economics. He took charge of his family's real estate business in the 1970s, expanding it into a global brand that included hotels, golf courses, and various entertainment ventures. His larger-than-life persona was further popularized by his role as the host of the reality show "The Apprentice."

Trump's political career began in earnest in 2015 when he announced his candidacy for the presidency as a Republican. His campaign was marked by a populist message that resonated with many voters, focusing on issues such as immigration, trade, and economic nationalism. He positioned himself as an outsider willing to challenge the political establishment, using provocative rhetoric and social media to communicate directly with supporters. Despite controversies and skepticism from some quarters, Trump secured the Republican nomination and won the presidency in the 2016 election, defeating Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.

During his presidency, which lasted from January 2017 to January 2021, Trump implemented a range of policies that reflected his campaign promises. He emphasized tax cuts, deregulation, and an "America First" approach to foreign policy. Notable achievements included the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, which aimed to stimulate economic growth, and significant changes to trade agreements, including the renegotiation of NAFTA into the USMCA. Trump's administration also focused on immigration reform, culminating in efforts to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border and implementing policies that restricted immigration from certain countries.

Trump's presidency was also characterized by controversy and division. His approach to governance, communication style, and handling of issues such as race relations and the COVID-19 pandemic led to significant polarization within American society. After losing the 2020 election to Joe Biden, Trump refused to concede, claiming widespread voter fraud without substantial evidence. This culminated in the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021, which resulted in his second impeachment by the House of Representatives, making him the first president to be impeached twice. Trump's influence continues to shape the Republican Party and American politics, as he remains a central figure in discussions about the future of conservatism and populism in the United States.
