Today, we're turning to our elders, both dead and alive. What up, ancestors! And we're giving thanks for those who laid the path for us to be so dope and amazing.
I had breakfast with my mother yesterday, as we discussed the new print magazine coming out in June. On many levels, even though Liveology is my idea and something I have been trying to figure out since about 2012, it feels like it is deeply related to my mother and is in some ways a culmination of much of her work in ministry and the things she has taught me.
When I'm honest about it, there are quite a few people I can point to who poured sweet life into my spirit that helped me to come to this place of joy that made Liveology possible.
And so today, as much as we love ourselves (love yourself lavishly, booski!), we're thinking about those who made it possible for us to be this awesome. I'm not just talking about me, family, but the dopeness and creative energy we've all been tapping into this past year. I've seen so many people I know start or expand their businesses during this time, and it's wildly exciting. It's miraculous that a time of crisis can actually be a time of increase for many people. This is such a testament to the strength of the human spirit.
But sometimes, in the excitement of all that we are doing, it's easy to forget about all the elements that really got us to this place of strength. You didn't create yourself!
So today, we're simply paying our respects to the people who helped us along the way. Thanks, fam. You know who you are, and you're the true GOATS.
