Puppy Pose

Writer's picture: Christina V. MillsChristina V. Mills

Puppy pose is a great stretch for the shoulders.

Puppy pose is related to Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward Facing Dog), but it may be easier for some since it's on the knees and lower to the ground.

Puppy pose is a great way for stretching the shoulders.

How to:

  • Begin in tabletop on the hands and knees.

  • Stretch the arms forward and the chest toward the floor.

  • Hold for 5-10 breaths.

Variation

Thread the Needle

Take one arm underneath and turn onto the side the head for a deep stretch.
