Baphomet is an idol associated with Satanism, the rejection of God, and narcissistic self-worship.

Baphomet is depicted as part man, part goat, with both male and female sex characteristics. Symbols include the 5-pointed star, wings, horns, white and black crescent moons, and the first two fingers together (index and middle fingers) pointed up with the first two fingers of the other hand pointed down. Contrary to popular belief, the two finger salute is not equivalent to the peace sign. Some versions also include an upside-down cross.

Though Satanists don't believe Baphomet is on the same level as Satan himself, when the church of Satan has placed images in public places to counter the 10 Commandments, Baphomet is often the image used.
