Halasana is a great way to relieve back pain, stretch the shoulders and spine, and calm the brain.

Sanskrit Name: Halasana

English Name: Plow Pose

How to:

  • Starting in shoulderstand, exhale as you bend at the hips and begin to send the toes overhead, maintaining straight legs.

  • As the toes reach the floor, point the toes.

  • Release the hands from the low back and clasp the fingers together. Press the uppers arms and hands down into the mat.

  • Gently draw the chin away from the chest.

  • Hold for 8 breaths.
