- Meanings of Septum Piercings
Yoke me. Meanings Rite of passage Coming of age Being yoked to God, spiritual connection Maturity Strength Information The septum piercing is a piercing of the thin skin on the inside tip of the nose. Septum piercings are often curved, and septum rings are often circular in shape, and can either be an open loop or a closed loop. While its popularity has grown significantly in recent years, septum piercings have a long history and hold various cultural, spiritual, and personal meanings across different societies. Septum piercings have been practiced for centuries in indigenous cultures worldwide, including those in South America, Africa, India, and Southeast Asia. In Native American traditions, septum piercings are given as a symbol after rites of passage such as after successfully returning from their spiritual quest in the wilderness, to symbolize establishing a spiritual connection, maturity, and strength. Some warrior tribes, including the Aztecs and Mayans, wore septum rings made from bones or tusks to create a fearsome appearance, symbolizing bravery and resilience. In Hindu and Buddhist cultures, nose piercings (including septum piercings) can symbolize beauty, social standing, and spiritual connection. In other cultures, such as the Native American Hopi tribe, septum piercings were believed to ward off evil spirits, protect the wearer, and symbolize spiritual protection. Like a bull ring, the septum piercing can also be a symbol of submission. The piercing in the front base of the nose can indicate that the person is now yoked to or belongs to something, such as surrendering to God or a higher power, a partner, or accepting to their dharma , their role and responsibilities within their community. In contemporary culture, septum piercings are often a form of personal expression and individuality. Many people choose this piercing to express their unique style, personality, or identity, often related to non-conformity with societal norms and independence. Overall, the septum piercing can have a variety of meanings for the wearer, including coming of age, strength, spiritual connection, and self-expression. - Matcha
Matcha adds not only flavor but also vibrant color and numerous health benefits to a variety of dishes. Scientific Name Camellia sinensis Camellia sinensis is the same plant that is used to produce other types of green teas. The distinction lies in the cultivation and processing methods used for matcha production, in which machta is a finely ground into a powder. How Matcha is Made Shading Process : About 3-4 weeks before harvest, tea plants are covered to protect them from direct sunlight. This shading process increases the chlorophyll content in the leaves, giving matcha its vibrant green color and boosting its amino acid levels, particularly L-theanine, which is responsible for the tea's calming effects. Harvesting : Only the youngest, most tender leaves from the top of the plant are harvested. These are the highest quality leaves with the most nutrients. Steaming : After harvesting, the leaves are quickly steamed to halt oxidation and preserve their green color, freshness, and nutrients. Drying and De-stemming : The steamed leaves are dried, and stems and veins are removed, leaving behind the pure leaf material known as "tencha." Grinding : The tencha is slowly stone-ground into a fine powder. This grinding process must be done carefully and slowly to avoid damaging the leaves and losing their nutrients. Properties High in Antioxidants: Matcha is rich in catechins, particularly epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), which help combat oxidative stress and may reduce inflammation. Calm Alertness: Matcha contains caffeine, which provides a sustained energy boost while reducing stress and anxiety, thanks to the presence of L-theanine, an amino acid that promotes relaxation. Supports Metabolism: Some studies suggest that the compounds in matcha may help boost metabolism and enhance fat oxidation. Detoxifying Properties: Matcha is often associated with detoxification, as it may help support liver function and eliminate toxins. Cognitive Benefits: Regular consumption of matcha may support brain health and improve focus, memory, and overall cognitive function. Nutritional Content (1 gram of powder) Nutrition Facts: Calories: 3 Protein: 0.3 grams Total Carbs: 0.4 grams Dietary Fiber: 0.3 grams Fat: 0 grams Saturated Fat: 0 grams Sodium: 0 mg Vitamins & Minerals: Vitamin C : Supports the immune system and skin health. Vitamin A (as beta-carotene) : Promotes healthy vision and skin. Vitamin E : Acts as an antioxidant, protecting cells from damage. Vitamin K : Important for blood clotting and bone health. Potassium : Helps regulate fluid balance and nerve function. Calcium : Supports bone health. Iron : Important for oxygen transport in the blood. Zinc : Supports immune function and cellular metabolism. Culinary Uses Matcha Tea : The most traditional use, simply whisking matcha powder with hot water to make a frothy beverage. Matcha Lattes: Mixing matcha with steamed milk (dairy or plant-based) creates a creamy, flavorful drink. Smoothies: Adding matcha to smoothies for a nutrient boost and vibrant green color. - Golf Pro Charley Hull's Smoking Habit as a Role Model
A prominent golfer, recently made headlines due to her smoking habit, sparking discussions on the hazards of smoking and its impact on health. In the realm of professional sports, athletes often become role models, admired for their skills, dedication, and discipline. However, what happens when one of these icons is caught engaging in a habit known to have detrimental effects on health? Charley Hull, a prominent golfer, recently made headlines due to her smoking habit, sparking discussions on the hazards of smoking and its impact on health. The Habit Unveiled Charley Hull, recognized for her talent and achievements in the world of golf, surprised many when images surfaced of her smoking. While smoking is a personal choice, the visibility of a public figure engaging in such behavior raises questions and concerns. As fans ponder the reasons behind Charley Hull's habit, health experts emphasize the critical importance of understanding the risks associated with smoking. A Dangerous Habit Smoking is a well-established health hazard, contributing to a myriad of severe conditions such as lung cancer, heart disease, and respiratory issues. The inhalation of harmful chemicals present in cigarettes poses a significant threat to one's well-being. As Charley Hull's smoking habit comes into the spotlight, it serves as a stark reminder of the dangerous consequences associated with tobacco use. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) there are 480,000 annual U.S. smoking-attributable deaths (SADs), including 439,000 first-hand smoke deaths. Though there is good news, according to the American Journal of Preventative Medicine, ""adult smoking prevalence has decreased by 40%," though some of this could be attributed to the increase in nicotine vaping, particularly among younger people. Raising Awareness The revelation of Charley Hull's smoking habit prompts a conversation on the significance of transparency, especially when it comes to public figures. While everyone has the right to privacy, the choices made by individuals in the public eye often have broader implications. By openly discussing her habit, Charley Hull unintentionally sheds light on the importance of promoting healthy lifestyle choices, particularly amongst her followers and younger audiences. Impact on Performance and Image For athletes like Charley Hull, who rely on physical prowess and endurance, the effects of smoking on performance cannot be overlooked. Despite the fact that she posts about athleticism and jogging, smoking can seriously impair lung function, reduce stamina, and negatively impact overall fitness levels, potentially hindering an athlete's ability to excel in their chosen sport. Furthermore, the juxtaposition of a smoking habit with an athlete's image as a paragon of health and fitness can create a contradictory and confusing narrative. A Habit Not Worth Adopting Charley Hull's smoking habit serves as a reminder of the complex interplay between personal choices, public image, and health impacts. While it is essential to respect individuals' autonomy, it is equally important to acknowledge the broader implications of certain behaviors, especially when undertaken by public figures and the responsibility athletes and other public figures have to be positive role models for their fans and especially younger supporters. Ultimately, smoking is one of the biggest causes of preventable death in the developed world. It's not a habig worth starting, and if you have already found yourself following the trend, begin to take steps to reduce and eventually eliminate it in order to extend the length and quality of your life. Let Charley Hull's story serve as a lesson in the importance of prioritizing health and well-being above all else. Liveology® creates uplifting content and products for abundant life. - The Sun Stands Still & Five Kings Defeated | Joshua 10
Open the mouth of the cave, and bring those five kings out to me from the cave. The Books of the Bible The Book of Joshua The Sun Stands Still 10:1 When King Adoni-zedek of Jerusalem heard how Joshua had taken Ai, and had utterly destroyed it, doing to Ai and its king as he had done to Jericho and its king, and how the inhabitants of Gibeon had made peace with Israel and were among them, 2 he a became greatly frightened, because Gibeon was a large city, like one of the royal cities, and was larger than Ai, and all its men were warriors. 3 So King Adoni-zedek of Jerusalem sent a message to King Hoham of Hebron, to King Piram of Jarmuth, to King Japhia of Lachish, and to King Debir of Eglon, saying, 4 “Come up and help me, and let us attack Gibeon; for it has made peace with Joshua and with the Israelites.” 5 Then the five kings of the Amorites—the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, and the king of Eglon—gathered their forces, and went up with all their armies and camped against Gibeon, and made war against it. 6 And the Gibeonites sent to Joshua at the camp in Gilgal, saying, “Do not abandon your servants; come up to us quickly, and save us, and help us; for all the kings of the Amorites who live in the hill country are gathered against us.” 7 So Joshua went up from Gilgal, he and all the fighting force with him, all the mighty warriors. 8 The LORD said to Joshua, “Do not fear them, for I have handed them over to you; not one of them shall stand before you.” 9 So Joshua came upon them suddenly, having marched up all night from Gilgal. 10 And the LORD threw them into a panic before Israel, who inflicted a great slaughter on them at Gibeon, chased them by the way of the ascent of Beth-horon, and struck them down as far as Azekah and Makkedah. 11 As they fled before Israel, while they were going down the slope of Beth-horon, the LORD threw down huge stones from heaven on them as far as Azekah, and they died; there were more who died because of the hailstones than the Israelites killed with the sword. 12 On the day when the LORD gave the Amorites over to the Israelites, Joshua spoke to the LORD; and he said in the sight of Israel, “Sun, stand still at Gibeon, and Moon, in the valley of Aijalon.” 13 And the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, until the nation took vengeance on their enemies. Is this not written in the Book of Jashar? The sun stopped in mid-heaven, and did not hurry to set for about a whole day. 14 There has been no day like it before or since, when the LORD heeded a human voice; for the LORD fought for Israel. 15 Then Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, to the camp at Gilgal. Five Kings Defeated 16 Meanwhile, these five kings fled and hid themselves in the cave at Makkedah. 17 And it was told Joshua, “The five kings have been found, hidden in the cave at Makkedah.” 18 Joshua said, “Roll large stones against the mouth of the cave, and set men by it to guard them; 19 but do not stay there yourselves; pursue your enemies, and attack them from the rear. Do not let them enter their towns, for the LORD your God has given them into your hand.” 20 When Joshua and the Israelites had finished inflicting a very great slaughter on them, until they were wiped out, and when the survivors had entered into the fortified towns, 21 all the people returned safe to Joshua in the camp at Makkedah; no one dared to spea a against any of the Israelites. 22 Then Joshua said, “Open the mouth of the cave, and bring those five kings out to me from the cave.” 23 They did so, and brought the five kings out to him from the cave, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, and the king of Eglon. 24 When they brought the kings out to Joshua, Joshua summoned all the Israelites, and said to the chiefs of the warriors who had gone with him, “Come near, put your feet on the necks of these kings.” Then they came near and put their feet on their necks. 25 And Joshua said to them, “Do not be afraid or dismayed; be strong and courageous; for thus the LORD will do to all the enemies against whom you fight.” 26 Afterward Joshua struck them down and put them to death, and he hung them on five trees. And they hung on the trees until evening. 27 At sunset Joshua commanded, and they took them down from the trees and threw them into the cave where they had hidden themselves; they set large stones against the mouth of the cave, which remain to this very day. 28 Joshua took Makkedah on that day, and struck it and its king with the edge of the sword; he utterly destroyed every person in it; he left no one remaining. And he did to the king of Makkedah as he had done to the king of Jericho. 29 Then Joshua passed on from Makkedah, and all Israel with him, to Libnah, and fought against Libnah. 30 The LORD gave it also and its king into the hand of Israel; and he struck it with the edge of the sword, and every person in it; he left no one remaining in it; and he did to its king as he had done to the king of Jericho. 31 Next Joshua passed on from Libnah, and all Israel with him, to Lachish, and laid siege to it, and assaulted it. 32 The LORD gave Lachish into the hand of Israel, and he took it on the second day, and struck it with the edge of the sword, and every person in it, as he had done to Libnah. 33 Then King Horam of Gezer came up to help Lachish; and Joshua struck him and his people, leaving him no survivors. 34 From Lachish Joshua passed on with all Israel to Eglon; and they laid siege to it, and assaulted it; 35 and they took it that day, and struck it with the edge of the sword; and every person in it he utterly destroyed that day, as he had done to Lachish. 36 Then Joshua went up with all Israel from Eglon to Hebron; they assaulted it, 37 and took it, and struck it with the edge of the sword, and its king and its towns, and every person in it; he left no one remaining, just as he had done to Eglon, and utterly destroyed it with every person in it. 38 Then Joshua, with all Israel, turned back to Debir and assaulted it, 39 and he took it with its king and all its towns; they struck them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed every person in it; he left no one remaining; just as he had done to Hebron, and, as he had done to Libnah and its king, so he did to Debir and its king. 40 So Joshua defeated the whole land, the hill country and the Negeb and the lowland and the slopes, and all their kings; he left no one remaining, but utterly destroyed all that breathed, as the LORD God of Israel commanded. 41 And Joshua defeated them from Kadesh-barnea to Gaza, and all the country of Goshen, as far as Gibeon. 42 Joshua took all these kings and their land at one time, because the LORD God of Israel fought for Israel. 43 Then Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, to the camp at Gilgal.
